Who is Hannah Einbinder and why should I care?

Honestly, before Sunday night, I’d never heard of Hannah Einbinder. Today i’m commenting about her and her ridiculous speech at the Emmys. “Separating Jews from Israel” can’t possibly be what you meant. It’s a nonsense statement. Israel and the Jewish people are inexorably intertwined.

Maybe you misspoke and what you meant to say is that you are trying to distinguish between Jews and the actions of the current Netanyahu government, and I think that there are probably Israelis that would agree with you.

But why are you wearing that idiotic red propaganda pin on your dress with the two bloody hands that were shown to
raptorous crowds in Ramallah by two terrorists who had just slaughtered two Israeli soldiers, killed in cold blood after making a wrong turn at the start of the Second Intiifada? You know what, that pin represents don’t you? Maybe you didn’t, because you were too busy virtue signaling?

Why did you never once mention 48 hostages that continue to languish in the dungeons of Gaza? Why did you not use your platform to ground your statements in ethics and justice and call for a just end to this terrible war including an end to Hamas despotic, xenophobic rule? Your words were toxic and you made a mistake. You should own it, and I’m guessing you will, after the applause dies down from your ridiculous supporters.

In five minutes i’m going to forget you. But, not before calling you out today. I doubt that the next time I hear your name mentioned as the star of a Hollywood production that i’m really ever going to watch it, or even care about what you’re trying to do creatively, without thinking about your toxic speech that you made at the Emmys. Shame on you!
